The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has dismissed claims that it will not participate in the 2027 general elections, describing the reports as unfounded and misleading.
In a press release signed by its spokesperson, Bolaji Abdullahi, the party stated that it remains fully committed to contesting the elections and will present “credible, competent, and nationally acceptable candidates.”

The ADC said suggestions of its exclusion from the polls were “mischievous” and aimed at creating confusion, insisting that there is no legal or constitutional barrier to its participation.
“We remain a law-abiding political party, fully compliant with the Constitution and the Electoral Act. There is no legal impediment to our participation in the 2027 elections,” the statement read.
The party reiterated its position as a leading opposition platform, adding that it is focused on mobilising Nigerians and strengthening its structures nationwide ahead of the elections.

It also urged members and supporters to disregard what it described as baseless claims, stressing that its priority remains building momentum to challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and address key national issues.
