An FCT High Court sitting in Abuja has fixed March 3, 2026, for the arraignment of a real estate developer, Cecil Osakwe, over an alleged ₦300 million eviction case.

Osakwe is expected to be docked on charges bordering on alleged illegal eviction, destruction of property and related offences arising from a dispute over a residential property in the Federal Capital Territory.

According to court documents, the complainant accused the developer of forcefully ejecting occupants from the property without lawful authority and allegedly demolishing parts of the building, actions said to have resulted in losses estimated at ₦300 million.

The prosecution told the court that the alleged offences contravene relevant provisions of the Penal Code applicable in the FCT, adding that investigations have been concluded and the defendant is ready to take his plea.

At the last hearing, the trial judge adjourned the matter to allow for proper service of court processes and to ensure the defendant’s presence for arraignment.

The case has continued to attract attention amid growing concerns over property disputes, unlawful evictions and the rights of tenants and property owners in Abuja and other major cities.
