Achievers University has expelled at least 15 female students for engaging in acts of indiscipline, including making sex videos, in violation of the institution’s rules and regulations.

The disclosure was made by the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council, Prof. Bode Ayorinde, during the university’s matriculation ceremony on Friday, which saw 936 students take the matriculation oath.

Prof. Ayorinde urged students to avoid behaviour that could lead to the loss of their studentship, stressing that the university has a zero-tolerance policy for indiscipline.

“You put your phone before you and you’re dancing naked, and they put Achievers University on it, I will dismiss you. Use social media for positive things,” he warned.

He also recounted the case of a student who would have graduated but was expelled for making threatening remarks regarding Boko Haram. “We refunded his N2.3 million and dismissed him,” Ayorinde said.

The Pro-Chancellor emphasized that women are not meant for entertainment but can “lead the world,” adding that acts such as bullying, fighting, alcohol abuse, and sexual molestation are strictly prohibited and will attract expulsion.

Ayorinde recalled that in 2025, the university dismissed 17 students for fraudulent acts related to examination clearance and three others for dealing in hard drugs. He also urged students to report anyone involved in drug abuse.

Acting Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Amos Aremu, underscored the university’s commitment to quality assurance, discipline, and academic integrity. He advised matriculating students that their admission marks the start of a journey of self-discovery, intellectual growth, and societal impact.

Prof. Aremu encouraged students to embrace the challenges of university life—including rigorous lectures, examinations, and personal development—as opportunities to build resilience, critical thinking, and leadership skills.

“University life is a tapestry woven with threads of excitement, discovery, and inevitable challenges. These are not punishments; they are preparations. Embrace them, and you will emerge stronger and ready to make an impact,” he said.
