American singer, Chris Brown appeared before a London court on Wednesday for a brief hearing ahead of his trial later this year over allegations that he attacked a music producer at a nightclub in central London.
Brown has denied charges of attempting to cause grievous bodily harm and a lesser charge of assault causing actual bodily harm, which prosecutors say followed an unprovoked attack with a bottle at the Tape nightclub in 2023.
The 36 year old attended Southwark Crown Court where he spoke only to confirm his name. He entered the dock alongside his co defendant, Omololu Akinlolu, who has also denied the charges. Supporters present in court waved at the singer as he left the dock after the hearing.
The court confirmed that the trial will begin in October, while both defendants were granted bail and are expected to return for a further preliminary hearing in April.
Brown, a two time Grammy Award winner known for hit songs such as Loyal, Run It and Under the Influence, was granted bail in May after paying five million pounds, allowing him to continue his Breezy Bowl XX tour, which ended in October.
The R and B star was arrested last year at a hotel in Manchester when he returned to the United Kingdom for the first time since the alleged incident.
