As Nigeria embraces artificial intelligence, innovation, policies and frameworks must be put in place to ensure technology serves humanity, not the other way around.
Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, stated this while reflecting on this year’s International Day of Education with the theme, AI and Education Preserving Human Agency in a World of Automation.
Harping on the need for humans to remain the drivers of artificial intelligence, the First Lady stressed the importance of harnessing innovation while preserving the values that define and sustain national development.
In a message to mark the celebration, she noted that education remains the most powerful tool for acquiring knowledge, values and ethical judgment required to thrive in a technology driven world.
She said sustained investment in quality and inclusive education that empowers citizens to think critically, act responsibly and embrace the future with confidence and compassion must remain a national priority.
