HOODLUMS BURGLE LIVING FAITH CHURCH IN DELTA, CART AWAY ₦100M WORTH EQUIPMENT, WIDOWS’ RICE

Suspected hoodlums have burgled a branch of the Living Faith Church located at Ekredjebor in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State, making away with church equipment valued at over ₦100 million, bags of rice meant for widows.

The incident occurred on December 23, 2025, just days before Christmas celebrations.

According to church members, items stolen during the burglary include eight modern air-conditioning units, an installed solar power system, an X32 sound console, a Montage 8 keyboard, a Yamaha keyboard, two virgin monitors, four other monitors, seven amplifiers, a pair of sub-speakers, a pair of full-range speakers, several bags of rice set aside for widows.

It was learnt that some of the stolen equipment had only recently been procured and installed in preparation for Christmas programmes.

A church official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, disclosed that the attackers overpowered the security guard on duty before gaining access to several offices within the church premises.

“When the hoodlums came, they tied down the security guard and forced their way into the Resident Pastor’s office, the Assistant Resident Pastors’ offices and the Accountant’s office,” the source said.

He added that the burglars carted away computers, all the installed solar power equipment, bags of rice meant for widows.

“The matter has been reported at the Ofuoma Police Division, and investigations are ongoing,” the source said, noting that no arrest had been made as of the time of filing this report.

The source further disclosed that the church has resorted to hiring musical instruments for its programmes, pending the outcome of police investigations.

Efforts to get a reaction from the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe were unsuccessful as calls to his phone were not answered at the time of filing this report.
