Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang has officially defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC), the ruling party in Nigeria.

The development was announced on Friday by the National Chairman of the APC, Nentawe Yilwatda, via a social media post welcoming the Governor into the party.

“On behalf of the National Working Committee and the entire family of the All Progressives Congress, I warmly welcome His Excellency, Governor Caleb Mutfwang, into our great party,” Yilwatda wrote.

“Your decision to join the progressive family is a bold, patriotic step, driven by a higher calling to serve the people of Plateau State and Nigeria. Today’s registration is a statement of hope and a commitment to a shared vision of inclusive development, peace, and prosperity for Plateau State.”

Yilwatda described Mutfwang’s defection as a boost to the APC’s growing political strength, assuring the Governor of the party’s support in advancing the interests of Plateau State.

Details of the circumstances surrounding Mutfwang’s decision to leave his previous party were not immediately disclosed.
