ACF CONDEMNS ATTACK ON MAIDUGURI MOSQUE, URGES FOR VIGILANCE

The Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) has expressed deep sadness, unequivocally condemned the Wednesday’s bomb attack on a mosque in Maiduguri, Borno State, which allegedly claimed about five lives, and injured many worshipers.

This was disclosed in a statement signed by Prof. T.A. Muhammad-Baba, the ACF National Publicity Secretary.

The ACF regrets the attack, mourns over lives lost, praying for the peaceful repose of their souls. The Forum also expressed sympathy for the injured, wishes them a speedy recovery.

Additionally, it extends condolences to the families of the deceased, and to those who have been affected by this tragedy.

The ACF conveys its condolences to the government, the people of Borno State, to all Nigerians.

The statement highlights that this tragic event serves as a harsh reminder that terrorism and insecurity are still prevalent, needs to be addressed.

The ACF emphasizes that the fight against insecurity must be taken seriously by the authorities, targeting those who perpetrate terror with necessary resolve.

It added that it is inconceivable that such acts of violence should bring the country to its knees, that it is entirely unacceptable.

Furthermore, the
Forum calls for vigilance at all times, in all places, particularly in areas where people congregate, such as places of worship, markets, and social gatherings.

“Anti-social elements, both domestic and foreign, must not be permitted to disrupt the normalcy of daily life”, the statement added.
