Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno has congratulated Major General Ime Okon Bassey, Air Vice Marshal Patrick James Edem, and Air Vice Marshal Emmanuel Cletus Ukpong on their recent promotion to senior ranks in the Nigerian Armed Forces.
In a congratulatory message issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Ekerete Udoh, the Governor described the promotions as a well-deserved recognition of the officers’ dedication, professionalism, and outstanding service to the nation.
“On behalf of the Government and people of Akwa Ibom State, I congratulate our sons, Major General Ime Okon Bassey, Air Vice Marshal Patrick James Edem, and Air Vice Marshal Emmanuel Cletus Ukpong, on their well-earned elevation,” the Governor stated.
Governor Eno noted that their achievements serve as inspiration to young Nigerians, particularly those from Akwa Ibom State, to embrace the ideals of patriotism, discipline, and selfless service to the nation.
“You are beacons of light to our young ones, I am hopeful that your accomplishments will inspire them to see the nobility in serving their fatherland with honour,” he added.
The Governor expressed confidence that the newly promoted officers would continue to uphold the values of discipline, loyalty, integrity, and excellence, which he described as hallmarks of the Akwa Ibom people, while discharging their duties with distinction.
Governor Eno further urged them to support and advance the security vision of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, working through their respective Service Chiefs to address Nigeria’s security challenges with renewed commitment and vigour.
