AKWA IBOM SCHOOLS TO BREAK ON DECEMBER 12 AS GOVERNMENT ANNOUNCES CHRISTMAS HOLIDAY SCHEDULE

Akwa Ibom State Ministry of Education has announced that all public and private schools in the state will close for the First Term of the 2025/2026 academic session on Friday, December 12, 2025.

The ministry said the Christmas break would run from Monday, December 15, 2025, through Friday, January 2, 2026, while academic activities for Second Term are expected to resume on Monday, January 5, 2026.

In a statement signed by the Permanent Secretary, Lady Rose N. Bassey, the ministry directed all public and private primary, secondary, and technical schools to adhere strictly to the approved schedule.

The Honourable Commissioner for Education, Professor Ubong Essien Umoh, wished pupils and students across the state a restful break, extending warm Christmas and New Year greetings.

The announcement ensures uniformity in the operations of schools across the state ahead of the festive season.
