The Executive Chairman of Oriental Energy Resources, Alhaji Mohammed Indimi, has described Akwa Ibom State as the best destination for investment in Nigeria, citing the State’s prevailing peace, security, and the hospitality of its people.
Alhaji Indimi made the remark during a courtesy visit by the management of Oriental Energy to the State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, PhD, at Government House, Uyo.
He noted that the company had operated in the State for many years without any form of conflict or encumbrance.
Alhaji Indimi commended Akwa Ibom people for their support and the creation of a conducive environment that has enabled Oriental Energy to thrive.
He also highlighted the company’s impactful Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programmes across host communities and reaffirmed their readiness to partner with the State Government in various developmental areas.
Similarly, the Executive Vice Chairman of the company, Engr. Goni Musa Sheikh, reiterated that Akwa Ibom remains their primary operational base.
He recalled several CSR initiatives undertaken in the State, including scholarships, medical outreach, and community empowerment projects, applauding host communities for their sustained cooperation.
Responding, Governor Umo Eno expressed profound appreciation to Alhaji Indimi and his team for the visit, acknowledging Oriental Energy’s longstanding operations and contributions to the State.
“Choosing to come to see us as Government is very homely, and we really appreciate it. Your company has been in the State for many years, and we will continue to work with you to ensure mutual benefit for your company, the State, and the people of Akwa Ibom,” the Governor stated.

He described the existing synergy between Oriental Energy and other oil firms operating in the State as encouraging, assuring the administration’s commitment to strengthening partnerships that support the ARISE Agenda.
Governor Eno also urged the company to consider situating its administrative headquarters in Uyo by taking advantage of the Government’s 21-storey smart office complex, the Udom Emmanuel Towers, noting that such presence would improve operational efficiency and deepen collaboration with the State Government.
He appealed to Oriental Energy to increase the employment and training of Akwa Ibom indigenes to enhance local capacity and drive shared prosperity.
The Governor further commended the company for its generous contributions to the State Security Trust Fund, assuring them of a peaceful and business-friendly environment for operations.
“I invite you to take a look at our Ibom Deep Sea Port and the enormous opportunities it presents. Working together in that area will yield great benefits,” he added.
