The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has reportedly announced plans to reopen its recruitment portal on October 28, 2026, with November 13 set as the deadline for the exercise.
The announcement was attributed to the board’s Secretary, retired Major General Abdulmalik Jibril, in Abuja on Thursday.
According to the reported directive, candidates who had reached the oral interview stage of the recruitment process are expected to check their status through the board’s recruitment platform.
The candidates were also reportedly directed to undergo mandatory drug screening to be conducted by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).

The screening is expected to take place in candidates’ respective states or places of residence, with the board reportedly indicating that the exercise would be free of charge.
The CDCFIB oversees recruitment into four federal paramilitary services: the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) and Federal Fire Service (FFS).
The board previously conducted several stages of its 2024/2025 recruitment exercise, including computer-based examinations, physical screening, document verification and oral interview assessments.
In August 2026, it directed successful shortlisted applicants to check the official recruitment platform for their oral interview arrangements.
However, the board’s official recruitment website currently displays a notice stating that the 2024/2025 recruitment exercise has concluded.
The reported October 28 reopening date and November 13 deadline could not be independently confirmed from a newly published official notice at the time of this report.

It also remains unclear whether the announced dates concern a fresh application exercise or an additional verification stage for candidates already participating in the recruitment process.
Prospective applicants and previously shortlisted candidates are therefore advised to monitor the board’s official recruitment website for authenticated instructions before submitting personal information or taking further action.
The CDCFIB has consistently maintained that recruitment into the four paramilitary services is free and that applicants should disregard individuals or organisations demanding payment for employment, shortlisting or screening.
Candidates are advised to use only authorised government channels and avoid unofficial recruitment websites, agents and social media messages promising guaranteed appointments.
