Nollywood actress Shaffy Bello has reaffirmed her commitment to remaining in Nigeria, saying the country has played a defining role in shaping her identity, career and personal development.

Bello made the remarks during a panel discussion at the event, 20+ Years in the Media: Real Talk with Kike @7, where she spoke about career development, personal growth and opportunities available to young Nigerians.

Reflecting on her experiences living in the United States and building her career in Nigeria, the actress said her connection to the country remained strong.

“America trained me, but Nigeria made me,” she declared.

Bello explained that despite having lived abroad, she had no intention of relocating permanently, describing Nigeria as the place where she had discovered opportunities that contributed significantly to her professional success.

The actress acknowledged the challenges confronting the country, particularly inadequate electricity supply, difficulties in accessing quality education and shortcomings in healthcare delivery.

However, she maintained that such challenges should not prevent young Nigerians from developing their abilities and pursuing meaningful careers.

According to her, individuals must recognise their strengths, acquire relevant skills and position themselves to take advantage of opportunities within their chosen professions.

Bello also encouraged young people to invest in continuous learning, stressing that competence, dedication and personal development remain important factors in achieving long-term success.

Speaking about her career in the entertainment industry, the actress identified authenticity as one of the principles that had helped her maintain relevance over the years.

She explained that remaining truthful to oneself creates a stronger foundation for personal and professional relationships.

Bello further emphasised the importance of faith, encouraging young Nigerians to remain committed to their beliefs while working towards their aspirations.

Her remarks highlighted her personal conviction that, despite Nigeria’s economic and social difficulties, individuals could still pursue opportunities and build successful careers within the country.
