The Oyo State Police Command has arrested three men over the alleged killing and robbery of members of a family in Oloba Village, Lagelu Local Government Area of the state.
The suspects, identified by police as Hammed Akinbami, Akinbami Ojo and Padonu Edward, were arrested following intelligence received by the command on October 2 concerning an attack that reportedly occurred on September 22.
According to the police, preliminary investigations indicated that the suspects allegedly entered the residence of Ifeanyi Chukwu, his wife and their four children at about 7 p.m. while armed with a locally made firearm and other weapons.

The command alleged that the attackers stole ₦200,000, a Boxer motorcycle, a Doma machine with a chainsaw and a spraying machine from the family.
Police further alleged that Chukwu and members of his family were attacked before their bodies were disposed of in a nearby river.
Detectives who subsequently visited the area recovered a Boxer motorcycle, a locally made Dane gun, two cutlasses and a club, which police said were connected to the investigation.
The command said the three suspects made statements during interrogation concerning their alleged involvement in the incident. Any such statements remain subject to verification and consideration by the court.
Police said the remains of the woman had been recovered, while efforts were continuing to locate other missing family members and recover additional remains believed to have been disposed of in the river.
The suspects and the case file are expected to be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, Iyaganku, for further investigation and possible prosecution.

Oyo State Commissioner of Police, CP Abimbola Ayodeji Olugbenga, has ordered a comprehensive investigation into the incident and directed investigators to establish the circumstances surrounding the killings and identify anyone else who may have been involved.
The command also appealed to residents with relevant information to assist investigators as the investigation and search operations continue.
The allegations against the suspects have not been determined by a court.
