Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has approved the appointment of three Commissioners-designate, two Special Advisers and four Senior Special Assistants as part of efforts to strengthen the state’s governance structure.
The Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Ibrahim Njodi, disclosed this in a statement issued on Tuesday.
According to Njodi, the governor has forwarded the names of the three commissioner nominees to the Gombe State House of Assembly for screening and approval.
The nominees are Dr Ahmed Wali Doho, Nasiru Adamu Degri and Dr Muhammad A. Bello.
Njodi also announced the appointment of Abdulmalik Jibrin and Mohammed Nuhu as Special Advisers.
The governor further approved the appointment of Jibrin M. Ali, Sadiq Abubakar, popularly known as BB Kumo, John Launa and Danlami Sanda as Senior Special Assistants II on Political and Community Engagement.
The statement said the appointments take immediate effect, while the appointments of the three commissioners-designate remain subject to confirmation by the State House of Assembly.

The state government said the appointments were intended to improve coordination within the administration and support the implementation of its development programmes.
Yahaya was first elected governor of Gombe State in 2019 and was re-elected for a second term in the 2023 governorship election.
