Rwanda’s Capital Markets Authority has begun discussions with relevant stakeholders to enable investors in the country to participate in the proposed initial public offering of Dangote Petroleum Refinery.

The regulator disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday, citing growing interest among Rwandan investors in opportunities available through the capital markets.

The CMA said it was working with stakeholders to establish the necessary arrangements for investors interested in the Dangote Refinery offer.

“The Capital Markets Authority of Rwanda is working with relevant stakeholders to facilitate participation by Rwandan investors in the Dangote Petroleum Refinery IPO,” the regulator said.

It added that investors who wish to participate could, pending further arrangements, register their interest through United Capital Financial Services Rwanda Ltd’s designated platform.

However, the regulator stressed that registering interest should not be interpreted as subscribing for shares or as a guarantee of share allocation.

The authority said additional details on how Rwandan investors would participate in the offer would be released when the arrangements are finalised.

The Dangote Petroleum Refinery is seeking to raise additional capital from investors as part of plans to list its shares on the Nigerian Exchange.

The proposed listing is expected to provide investors with an opportunity to acquire an equity stake in the refinery while supporting the company’s broader capital-market plans.
