Manchester United are working on a late transfer deadline day deal for Leicester City midfielder Louis Page, with the club attempting to complete the move before the Premier League transfer window closes.

The Old Trafford side is prepared to continue negotiations until the final hours of the window as they look to add another young talent to their rebuilt midfield. However, the limited time available has created uncertainty over whether an agreement can be reached before the 11pm deadline.

United have already strengthened their midfield options this summer with the arrivals of Youri Tielemans, Andrey Santos and Carlos Baleba in deals worth a combined £155 million. Goalkeeper Karl Darlow has also joined the club on a free transfer.

Page, an 18-year-old Leicester City midfielder, has attracted interest from Manchester United after making his senior debut in August 2025. The youngster has since made 25 first-team appearances and is regarded as a promising prospect.

Reports indicate that any potential deal for Page could cost United more than £10 million. Discussions remain ongoing, but complications include a possible arrangement that would see the player return to Leicester on loan before completing a permanent move to Old Trafford next summer.

The possibility of a delay increased after Page was named in Leicester City’s starting lineup for their League One match against Plymouth Argyle on deadline day, making a completed transfer before the deadline more difficult.

Meanwhile, Manchester United are also considering other late window decisions, including possible moves involving their defensive options and player departures.

The club has faced pressure from supporters over the lack of a new left-back signing despite reported interest in Newcastle United defender Lewis Hall and Barcelona’s Alejandro Balde.

Young defender Harry Amass could also leave on loan, while striker Joshua Zirkzee remains linked with potential moves to Serie A clubs Fiorentina and Juventus.

United are expected to continue monitoring the market until the final minutes of the transfer window as they seek to complete further squad adjustments.
