The United States government has revoked the visa of former Iraqi Finance Minister Taif Sami Mohammed Al Shakarchi after she was placed on the FBI’s Terrorist Screening Database, the US State Department announced on Friday.

The development was disclosed by the State Department as the administration of President Donald Trump continues its stated policy of preventing individuals suspected of terrorism from remaining in the United States.

Dylan Johnson, a representative of the US State Department, said suspected terrorists would not be permitted to remain in the country under President Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

The State Department did not provide further details in the announcement on why Al Shakarchi was placed on the Terrorist Screening Database or the circumstances surrounding the visa revocation.

Al Shakarchi previously served as Iraq’s Finance Minister before leaving office.

The Terrorist Screening Database is maintained by US authorities and is used to identify individuals considered to have possible links to terrorism or terrorist-related activities.

The visa revocation means Al Shakarchi’s permission to enter or remain in the United States has been withdrawn by the US government.
