Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State, who is contesting for re-election under the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), has emerged victorious at his polling unit in the ongoing governorship election.
The governor won Polling Unit 002, located at Umuezeadigo Street, Isuofia, in Aguata Local Government Area, securing a resounding lead over other contenders.
According to the official results announced by the Presiding Officer, Miss Obiorah Anwulike, at about 5:30 p.m., Soludo polled 417 votes, while his closest rival, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, garnered four votes. The Accord Party candidate followed with one vote.
Out of the 430 accredited voters, eight votes were declared invalid.
The victory underscores Soludo’s strong grassroots support in his hometown, as residents and party supporters celebrated peacefully following the announcement of the results.
