US President Donald Trump has launched a fresh attack on Alexander Vindman, describing the former White House official as a “treasonous” figure and predicting his defeat in a forthcoming Senate race.
In a post shared on social media, Trump said Vindman would lose to Republican Senator Ashley Moody, whom he described as a “fantastic” senator from Florida.
Trump also revived his criticism of Vindman over the 2019 controversy involving his phone conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Vindman, a former US Army lieutenant colonel who served on the National Security Council, was one of the officials who testified during the first impeachment proceedings against Trump.

Trump accused Vindman of lying about his conversation with Zelenskyy, insisting that subsequent recordings and accounts of the call vindicated his position.
“The most gratifying loss last night was that of a real treasonous creep, Alexander Vindman,” Trump said.
He further described Vindman as a “Radical Left Lunatic” and alleged that he would suffer a decisive defeat at the hands of Moody.
The President also criticised the impeachment effort against him, describing it as a politically motivated campaign that ultimately failed.
He questioned whether Vindman should face prosecution over his role in the controversy.

“Vindman should be prosecuted for what he did?” Trump asked, concluding the post with his name.
Vindman, a former military officer who became a prominent figure during Trump’s first impeachment, has remained an outspoken critic of the former president and has been involved in US political affairs since leaving government service.
