President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Mr Abel Olumuyiwa Enitan as the new Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, effective August 27, 2026.
Enitan, who is from Osun State, will succeed Mrs Didi Esther Walson-Jack, who is due to retire from the Federal Civil Service upon attaining the statutory retirement age of 60.

A statement issued on Wednesday by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, said Enitan is currently the Permanent Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Education and the most senior Permanent Secretary in the Federal Civil Service.

According to the statement, his extensive experience in the Federal Civil Service is expected to strengthen his capacity to lead the service and drive ongoing reforms.
President Tinubu commended the outgoing Head of Service, Mrs Walson-Jack, for her distinguished service and contributions to reforms, innovations and institutional development within the Civil Service.
The President wished her a fulfilling post-service life and expressed the nation’s appreciation for her years of dedicated public service.
