Federal workers have urged the Federal Government to urgently implement the approved peculiar allowances for personnel under the Consolidated Public Service Salary Structure (CONPSS) and Consolidated Research and Allied Institutions Salary Structure (CONRAISS), while also clearing all outstanding arrears owed to affected employees.
The workers said the continued delay in implementing the allowances has placed additional financial pressure on federal civil servants, many of whom are already struggling with rising living costs.
They also called on the government to settle outstanding arrears arising from the delayed implementation of the allowances, stressing that workers should not continue to bear the financial consequences of administrative delays.

In addition, the workers demanded the immediate payment of outstanding promotion arrears owed to eligible federal employees, noting that prolonged delays in promotion-related payments undermine staff morale and career progression within the public service.
The workers appealed to the Federal Government, particularly the relevant ministries, departments and agencies, to treat the payments as a matter of urgency and fulfil its commitments to federal employees.
They stressed that implementing the peculiar allowances for CONPSS and CONRAISS, clearing the associated arrears and settling promotion arrears would demonstrate the government’s commitment to the welfare and motivation of its workforce.
The workers therefore urged the government to provide a clear payment timeline and ensure that all affected MDAs are covered without further delay.
