The Nigeria Police Force has deployed its Air Wing for aerial surveillance across Osun State as voters cast their ballots in the governorship election today, Saturday, August 15, 2026.

The aerial operation is designed to complement ground security efforts by monitoring key locations, tracking suspicious movements and providing real-time intelligence to security personnel deployed for the election.

The deployment is part of broader security measures put in place to ensure the peaceful conduct of the poll, including a restriction of movement across the state from midnight Friday until 6:00 p.m. today.

The Police have also warned Amotekun, vigilante groups, hunters’ associations and other non-state security outfits against taking part in election security operations.

Security agencies have been deployed across the state to protect voters, electoral officials and election materials and to prevent acts capable of disrupting the electoral process.
