Akwa Ibom has recorded another milestone in public sector strengthening as the State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno released employment letters to 125 newly recruited officers in the State Civil Service.
The new appointments include 25 Senior State Counsel and 100 Occupational Safety Officers, marking the first batch of civil service recruitment for 2025.
According to the Commissioner for Information, Mr. Aniekan Umanah, the selected candidates emerged from the State Government’s open and competitive online recruitment portal earlier this year.
With 100 fresh Occupational Safety Officers, workplaces across the State are expected to enjoy improved safety standards, helping protect workers, reduce accidents and support a more productive workforce.
The addition of 25 Senior Legal Counsel strengthens the justice sector, promising quicker legal processes and improved access to justice for citizens.
For many families, this move signals renewed hope. Beyond strengthening institutions, the employment offers new income streams for households, easing economic pressures and contributing to a healthier local economy.
It also reflects the Governor’s continued effort to build trust through transparent and merit-based recruitment, ensuring qualified citizens are given equal opportunity.
Mr. Umanah praised the Civil Service Commission for a diligent and transparent recruitment process, noting that the new officers will undergo documentation and induction before being deployed to relevant Ministries, Departments and Agencies.
He said the gesture is a clear demonstration of Governor Eno’s commitment to job creation, institutional development, and citizen-centered governance under the ARISE Agenda.
