Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has declared Tuesday, July 28, 2026, a public holiday to enable civil servants and other public workers to collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) ahead of the governorship election.

In a statement issued by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, the governor said the work-free day is intended to allow public servants to fulfil their civic responsibility before the PVC collection exercise closes.

The directive, conveyed through a circular to the public service, exempts essential workers, including medical personnel and security officers, who have been advised to make arrangements to ensure uninterrupted service delivery.

Adeleke urged all registered voters to collect their PVCs without delay, stressing that the forthcoming governorship election is critical to the future of Osun State.

He reminded residents that their voter card is their access to the ballot and encouraged them to actively participate in the electoral process.
