Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his support and commitment to the successful hosting of the 163rd Nigerian Army Day Celebration (NADCEL 2026) in Rivers State.
Governor Fubara made the remarks during the grand finale of the week-long celebration held at the Yakubu Gowon Stadium in Port Harcourt.

The governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting all security agencies operating in Rivers State, stressing that effective collaboration is essential to maintaining peace and protecting lives and property.
He noted that the success of security agencies in combating crime and ensuring public safety translates directly into the success and stability of the state.
According to Fubara, his government will continue to provide the necessary support to enable security personnel to carry out their constitutional responsibilities effectively.
Governor Fubara also thanked the Nigerian Army for selecting Rivers State as the host of the 163rd Army Day Celebration, describing the decision as a strong indication that the state remains peaceful and secure.
He said the choice of Rivers to host the national military event contradicts what he described as sponsored media reports portraying the state negatively.

According to the governor, the successful hosting of the celebration demonstrates that Rivers State remains safe for national events, investment and development.
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to sustaining peace and working closely with security agencies to ensure continued stability across the state.
