The Akwa Ibom State Universal Basic Education Board, AKSUBEB, says newly recruited teachers will be posted to public primary schools within their respective local government areas to strengthen grassroots education delivery.
Chairman of the Board, Dr Anietie Etuk, disclosed this during Arise Discourse, a Government House radio programme on Comfort 95.1 FM.
He explained that the ongoing recruitment of 1,000 teachers follows the deployment of the first batch of successful applicants to secondary and technical schools, creating vacancies in the primary school system.

Dr Etuk urged qualified holders of the Nigeria Certificate in Education and Bachelor of Education degrees to apply through the ARISE Youth Employment Portal before July 21, noting that shortlisted candidates will undergo a computer-based test and oral interview.
The AKSUBEB Chairman also revealed that the state government has renovated more than 250 public primary schools, with an additional ₦5.9 billion approved for the comprehensive rehabilitation of selected schools across the state. He appealed to residents to protect public school facilities from vandalism.
