Grammy Award-winning Nigerian singer, Burna Boy, has become the African artist with the highest number of entries on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, surpassing fellow Nigerian star, Tems.

The achievement follows the debut of Dai Dai, his collaboration with Colombian singer Shakira and the official song of the FIFA World Cup, on the latest Billboard Hot 100 chart.

The track entered the chart at No. 75, giving Burna Boy a total of nine career appearances on the prestigious U.S. singles chart. The new milestone places him ahead of Tems, who previously shared the record with eight entries.

Dai Dai gained significant attention following a high-profile performance by Burna Boy and Shakira during the opening ceremony of the FIFA World Cup, helping to boost the song’s global visibility.

Beyond setting a new record for African artists, Burna Boy has also achieved another landmark feat by becoming the first African musician to chart at least one song on the Billboard Hot 100 in six consecutive years.

His Billboard Hot 100 appearances span from 2021 to 2026, reflecting his growing influence on the global music scene. Notable entries include Loved By You (2021), Last Last (2022), Sittin’ On Top Of The World and Talibans II (2023), Just Like Me and We Pray (2024), WGFT (2025), and Only You alongside Dai Dai in 2026.
