Media personality, Daddy Freeze has sparked debate after questioning gospel singer and pastor, Nathaniel Bassey over comments he made during a memorial event for late actor Alex Ekubo.
Speaking during Alex Ekubo’s service of songs last week, Bassey recounted how a pastor friend had invited him to visit and minister to the actor while he was hospitalised. According to him, plans had been made for the visit on a Tuesday, but Ekubo passed away on Monday.

Bassey explained that despite the actor’s death, he honoured the arrangement by visiting the family on the scheduled date to pray and offer support during their period of mourning.
Reacting during an Instagram Live session over the weekend, Daddy Freeze questioned why the pastor did not demonstrate the miraculous healings and resurrections often associated with testimonies shared by some Christian ministers.
He argued that the situation presented an opportunity to showcase divine intervention, expressing scepticism about miracle claims frequently promoted on religious platforms.
Freeze also referenced Bassey’s appearance at the memorial service, including his use of a trumpet during the event, while challenging the consistency between public miracle testimonies and real-life situations involving death and illness.

The remarks have generated mixed reactions on social media, with supporters and critics weighing in on the ongoing debate surrounding faith healing, miracles, and the role of religious leaders in addressing such expectations.
Neither Nathaniel Bassey nor his representatives had publicly responded to Daddy Freeze’s comments as of the time of this report.
