According to Professor Usman, the suspects were apprehended by the university’s internal security personnel within hours of the incident before being handed over to the appropriate law enforcement authorities to continue investigations.

The Vice-Chancellor assured the bereaved family that the university would closely monitor the case and work with security agencies to ensure that anyone found responsible for the student’s death is brought to justice.

While describing the incident as a tragic loss, Usman said the killing had deeply affected the university community and reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to supporting efforts aimed at uncovering the circumstances surrounding the crime.

Speaking further, he reiterated the university’s firm stance against cultism, violence and other criminal activities, stressing that management has already strengthened security measures within the campus and surrounding areas to enhance the safety of students and staff.

The Vice-Chancellor further revealed that additional security initiatives would be introduced in the coming days as part of ongoing efforts to prevent similar incidents and improve overall campus security.

He also appealed to members of the public and the deceased’s relatives to provide any information that could assist investigators in establishing the facts of the case.

Expressing confidence in the investigative process, Usman stated that due process would be followed to ensure a thorough investigation and fair prosecution of those involved.
