The Nigeria Police Force has rescued Mrs Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul, the younger sister of former Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, and her 12-year-old twin sons, Peter and Paul, following a coordinated rescue operation.
The victims were freed on Saturday, days after they were abducted while on their way to school on June 3, 2026.
According to security sources, the rescue followed sustained intelligence gathering and tactical operations that led security operatives to the kidnappers’ location. The operation resulted in a gun battle during which two suspected members of the kidnapping gang were neutralised.

Police also recovered two firearms from the suspects during the operation.
Authorities disclosed that pressure mounted by security operatives forced the kidnappers into a confrontation, paving the way for the successful rescue of the victims without reported harm.
Security agencies have since intensified efforts to apprehend other members of the criminal syndicate, with ongoing search operations in nearby communities and forests. Some of the fleeing suspects are believed to have escaped with gunshot wounds.
