Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, has reaffirmed the commitment of the state government and its development partners to the successful delivery of the Ibom Deep Sea Port Project following a high-level technical meeting held in Paris, France.
The engagement, which took place on Friday, involved officials of the Akwa Ibom State Government and representatives of Africa Global Logistics.
Discussions focused on the recently completed technical feasibility report prepared by Worley and the next steps required to advance the project.

During the session, Governor Eno stressed the importance of accelerating implementation, calling for clear timelines, measurable milestones and practical action plans that would move the project from the planning stage to execution.
Both the state government and prospective investors reiterated their commitment to the Ibom Deep Sea Port initiative, describing it as a transformative Blue Economy project capable of positioning Akwa Ibom as a major maritime, logistics and trade hub within the Gulf of Guinea region.
According to a statement issued by the Akwa Ibom State Commissioner for Information, Hon. Aniekan Umanah, the governor was accompanied by key members of the state delegation, including Mfon Usoro, who also served as Director-General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency; the Secretary to the State Government, Enobong Uwah; Commissioner for Science and Digital Economy, Frank Ekpenyong; and the Managing Director of Hensek Integrated Services, Engr. Uwem Okoko.

The Ibom Deep Sea Port Project is considered one of the flagship infrastructure initiatives of the Akwa Ibom State Government and is expected to drive industrialisation, attract investment, create jobs and strengthen maritime commerce across the region once completed.
