The New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) has acknowledged the difficulties it has faced since the 2023 general elections, urging members nationwide to remain focused and committed as preparations intensify ahead of the 2027 polls.

The appeal was made by the party’s National Secretary, Dipo Olayoku, during the 11th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting held in Abuja on Saturday.

Olayoku said the NNPP had experienced a challenging period marked by the defection of several elected officials and political appointees who were initially elected under the party’s platform.

“The past three years have not been easy for this party. All our elected members and appointees in government, whom we laboured to bring into office, have left in the name of political realignment,” he said.

Despite these setbacks, he urged party members not to be discouraged, stressing the need for unity and renewed commitment to strengthen the party’s performance in the next election cycle.

“We must remain focused and work towards a stronger outing in 2027,” he added.

According to Olayoku, the NEC meeting also marked the conclusion of a series of internal political engagements conducted from the ward to the state level, all aimed at repositioning the party ahead of the forthcoming elections.

The party reaffirmed its determination to rebuild internal structures and consolidate support as it looks toward the 2027 general elections.
