Ghanaian singer Captan has claimed that dancehall artist Shatta Wale once helped Nigerian star, Burna Boy secure his release from police custody in Ghana after an alleged arrest for smoking cannabis.
Speaking during a recent podcast interview, Captan said he was among those allegedly sent by Shatta Wale to intervene and free Burna Boy from detention.
“I once bailed Burna Boy out of prison in Ghana when he was arrested for smoking weed. Shatta Wale sent me and some guys to go and free him from police custody,” he claimed.

Captan also alleged that Burna Boy was at one point sheltered by Shatta Wale’s circle when he faced threats from unknown individuals, saying they helped him “settle the case.”
According to him, relations between himself and Burna Boy have since broken down following the singer’s fallout with Shatta Wale. However, he suggested there is still room for reconciliation if Burna Boy reaches out.
The claims have not been independently verified, and neither Burna Boy nor Shatta Wale has publicly responded to the allegations at the time of reporting.
