President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has said that ongoing economic reforms in Nigeria are beginning to yield positive results, including improved stability and growing investor confidence.
Tinubu stated this in his Eid-el-Kabir 2026 message to Muslims in Nigeria and across the world, where he urged citizens to embrace the virtues of sacrifice, unity, and compassion as taught by Prophet Ibrahim.
The President said the festival serves as a reminder of faith, obedience, and selflessness, calling on Nigerians of all religions and ethnicities to strengthen bonds of brotherhood and national unity.
“As a nation, we are on a journey of reconstruction and renewal. The reforms we have undertaken are challenging but necessary to build a stronger and more prosperous Nigeria for future generations,” he said.
Tinubu maintained that the sacrifices made in the past three years were already yielding a more stable economy, which he said is positioning Nigeria as a preferred investment destination capable of driving job creation and economic growth.
“The walk through the dark tunnel is over, and the light is here,” the President declared.
On security, Tinubu acknowledged ongoing attacks in some communities despite efforts by security agencies, noting recent operations including the elimination of a wanted ISIS-linked leader.
He assured Nigerians that the government was intensifying efforts to defeat terrorism and banditry, insisting that no citizen has been abandoned.
“We will ultimately defeat all the forces of evil,” he said.
The President also urged Nigerians to use the Eid period to pray for peace, support the less privileged, and strengthen national unity, while appealing for continued cooperation with security agencies.
Tinubu reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to investing in security, infrastructure, agriculture, and human capital development, saying these remain central to building a peaceful and prosperous nation.
He concluded by wishing Muslim faithful a peaceful and joyous Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
