A real estate expert, Engineer Akeem Olayinka-Martins, has called on northern states to draw lessons from the development policies of Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, describing the administration’s infrastructure and urban renewal initiatives as a model for sustainable growth.
Olayinka-Martins, a prominent realtor and Executive Chairman of BO&A Engineering, said strategic investments in infrastructure and public services remain critical to economic expansion and investor confidence across the country.
He also commended the contribution of real estate professionals in northern Nigeria, noting that their activities have continued to shape and strengthen the region’s property and housing sector.

According to him, realtors play a key role in facilitating property transactions by connecting buyers, sellers and investors while ensuring professional standards and ethical practices are maintained.
He explained that the responsibilities of property professionals extend beyond buying and selling to include market research, pricing strategies, negotiations, property listings and managing transaction processes.
Speaking on Osun State’s development trajectory, Olayinka-Martins said Adeleke’s administration had introduced policies that strengthened investor confidence and stimulated economic activity.
He highlighted several infrastructure projects, including road construction, urban renewal programmes, electrification initiatives and other public works, stating that such projects had transformed the physical outlook of the state.
“The level of transformation taking place across the state within a relatively short period is impressive,” he said, adding that visible changes in infrastructure had positively influenced perceptions of economic stability.
He further noted that developments in sectors such as healthcare, education, water supply and rural electrification had improved living standards and expanded development opportunities.
The property expert described Governor Adeleke as a people-focused leader whose approach to governance had contributed to public support and political goodwill.

According to him, many of the projects being executed under the current administration have the potential to remain beneficial long after the governor’s tenure ends, providing a foundation for future administrations.
Olayinka-Martins also urged residents to continue supporting policies and initiatives capable of sustaining development and economic growth irrespective of political considerations.
