Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has assured members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) that the forthcoming party primaries in the State will be transparent, free, and fair.
Governor Eno gave the assurance while addressing stakeholders and party faithful from his local government area, Nsit Ubium, during a special consultation visit held at the residence of the area’s political leader, Senator Effiong Bob.
The Governor stated that Akwa Ibom has remained peaceful and must continue to maintain peace before, during, and after the primaries.
He appreciated Senator Bob and the people of Nsit Ubium for their support, unity, and cooperation ahead of the primaries and the 2027 general elections.
“I consider it expedient to officially notify my people of my intention to seek a second term as Governor in 2027.
As you support me, we will also support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and all APC candidates,” the Governor said.

Governor Eno expressed confidence that the party primaries scheduled to commence on Friday, May 15, 2026, would be smooth and hitch-free, given the prevailing atmosphere of peace in the State.
He urged party members and stakeholders to conduct themselves with decorum and a strong sense of responsibility, emphasising that the peace of the State should not be sacrificed for personal or group interests.
The Governor also appealed to party faithful to respect the leadership of the APC at all levels and to participate actively in the primaries at their respective ward centres to ensure a successful exercise.
In his remarks, Senator Effiong Bob commended Governor Eno for what he described as impactful and people-oriented leadership over the past three years, noting that the people were proud of his performance.
Senator Bob also praised the people of Nsit Ubium for consistently supporting quality leadership and good governance, as demonstrated in their unanimous support for Governor Eno’s administration.
Also speaking, the member representing Nsit Ubium State Constituency, Rt. Hon. Otobong Bob; Commissioner for Trade and Investments, Captain Iniobong Ekong; Chairman of Nsit Ubium Local Government Council, Hon. Alfred Charles; State Vice Chairman of the APC, Mr Aniekan Ekpo; and other stakeholders applauded the Governor for his developmental strides and landmark projects across the State.

They assured him of the continued support of the men, women, and youths of the area.
