NASARAWA POLICE CONFIRM RELEASE OF ABDUCTED NSUK STUDENTS, ARREST TWO SUSPECTS

The Nasarawa State Police Command has confirmed the safe release of students abducted from the Nasarawa State University, Keffi, following coordinated security operations that also led to the arrest of two suspected members of the kidnapping syndicate.

In a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Ramhan Nansel, the Command said the successful outcome was achieved through sustained intelligence-led operations and the combined efforts of police operatives and other security agencies in the state.

The statement described the development as a result of “professionalism, resilience, and unwavering commitment” demonstrated by security personnel involved in the rescue mission.

According to the Command, all rescued students have been reunited with their families and are currently receiving medical attention and psychological support.

It added that two suspects linked to the abduction have been arrested, while efforts are ongoing to track down other fleeing members of the criminal network believed to be responsible for the incident.

The Commissioner of Police, Shetima Jauro Mohammed, commended the operatives for their swift response and also expressed appreciation to members of the public for providing timely and useful information that aided the operation.

He assured residents that the Command remains committed to sustaining pressure on criminal elements and ensuring the safety of lives and property across Nasarawa State.
