President Bola Tinubu has arrived in Nairobi, Kenya, ahead of the Africa-France Summit, which is set to begin on Monday.

According to the State House media office, the presidential aircraft landed at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport at about 12:15 a.m. local time.

Tinubu’s visit marks his second trip to Kenya since assuming office in July 2023 and forms part of a three-nation diplomatic tour that began in France, where he met with global investors and reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to economic reforms and fiscal discipline.

The summit, jointly hosted by French President Emmanuel Macron and Kenyan President William Ruto, will run from May 11 to May 12 under the theme: “Africa Forward: Africa-France Partnerships for Innovation and Growth.”

Discussions at the summit are expected to focus on energy transition, green industrialisation, digital transformation, climate action, and reforms in global financing structures.

The Presidency said Tinubu’s participation reflects Nigeria’s commitment to strengthening strategic partnerships with African countries and France, while also promoting investment opportunities and economic growth.

The President is also expected to hold bilateral meetings with African and global business leaders on the sidelines of the summit.

Following the Nairobi engagement, Tinubu will travel to Rwanda for the Africa CEO Forum, scheduled for May 14-15, before returning to Nigeria.
