The Police Service Commission (PSC), in collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), has scheduled the written examination for candidates seeking enlistment as Police Constables for April 28-30, 2026.
The examination, which will cover both General Duty and Specialist cadres, is set to take place at designated centres across the 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory.
This was contained in a statement issued on Friday, April 24, 2026 and signed by the Force Public Relations Officer, DCP Anthony Okon Placid, at the Force Headquarters, Abuja.
The Commission clarified that only candidates who successfully passed the earlier physical and credentials screening are eligible to sit for the examination.
Eligible applicants have been directed to access the official recruitment portal www.npfapplication.psc.gov.ng from April 24 to print their Examination Invitation Card. The card contains critical details, including candidates’ assigned dates, venues, and examination times.
The PSC outlined mandatory requirements for entry into the examination centres. Candidates are expected to come with a pen, their National Identification Number (NIN) slip issued by the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), bearing a clear photograph, as well as a printed copy of their Examination Invitation Card.
A uniform dress code has also been prescribed: white shorts, a white T-shirt, and white canvas shoes.
Reaffirming its commitment to transparency and merit, the Commission stressed that the recruitment process is entirely free of charge. It warned applicants against falling victim to fraudsters or engaging in any form of financial inducement or job racketeering.
“The Commission will not hesitate to prosecute anyone found culpable in recruitment-related fraud,” the statement added.
