The Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) has distributed about 140,000 instructional materials to basic and junior secondary schools across the six Area Councils of the Federal Capital Territory, in a renewed effort to strengthen the quality of basic education.

Officials said the initiative is expected to benefit no fewer than 10,000 pupils, providing them with essential learning resources, including digital boards, school bags, writing materials, and other teaching aids.

According to UBEC, the distribution is aimed at improving teaching and learning outcomes by ensuring that both teachers and students have access to the tools required for effective classroom engagement and academic excellence.

Education stakeholders involved in the exercise emphasized that the availability of adequate instructional materials remains a critical factor in enhancing classroom delivery, boosting student performance across schools.

The Commission reiterated its commitment to advancing inclusive and quality education, noting that it will continue to implement programmes and policies designed to improve learning standards throughout the FCT.

The intervention forms part of broader efforts by UBEC to address gaps in educational resources, create a more supportive learning environment for pupils in Nigeria’s capital territory.
