The Office of the Member representing Ikono/Ini Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Ukpong-udo, PhD, has announced the commencement of the 2026 bursary scheme for students of Ikono/Ini origin enrolled in tertiary institutions across Nigeria.
According to a statement issued by the Media Unit of the constituency office, the first phase of the programme will see 1,000 eligible students receive ₦50,000 each, with disbursement scheduled to begin in May 2026.

The initiative, valued at ₦50 million, is part of efforts aimed at supporting educational development and easing the financial burden on students from the constituency.
As part of the verification process, leaders of Ikono-Ini student associations nationwide have been directed to liaise with the Special Assistant on Education and Career Development, Dr. Anyanime Ibanga, for proper documentation and coordination.
They are expected to submit a comprehensive list of eligible students, including their names, contact details, local government of origin, institution, course of study, level, valid means of identification, and bank account information.
The statement further noted that only duly verified students will be contacted for final validation prior to payment.
The office assured that the process would be transparent and strictly based on eligibility to ensure that the intended beneficiaries are reached.

The bursary scheme is expected to provide financial relief to students and strengthen human capital development within the Ikono/Ini Federal Constituency.
