Akwa Ibom indigenes residing in Lagos State have pledged massive mobilisation and electoral support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, ahead of the 2027 general elections.

This commitment was made during the inauguration of the Lagos chapter and advisory committees of the Arise With Renewed Hope Initiative, where members of the community reaffirmed their readiness to return home and actively participate in the electoral process.

In a press release issued on April 12, 2026, the group expressed deep appreciation for the warm reception accorded them by the Akwa Ibom community in Lagos, describing the gathering as a significant step in strengthening political mobilisation among indigenes outside the state.

The statement highlighted the strategic role played by Akwa Ibom indigenes in Lagos in influencing voter participation back home, noting that their bloc vote remains both significant and reassuring.

According to the group, the adoption of President Tinubu, Senator Akpabio, and Governor Eno as sole candidates underscores a growing political alignment and expanding grassroots strength. The pledge to return to Akwa Ibom to vote for the All Progressives Congress (APC) was described as a clear demonstration of loyalty and unity.

The initiative further disclosed that it has successfully extended its reach to Akwa Ibom communities across several locations, including Cross River and Rivers States, the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, and 19 Northern states.

It also expressed gratitude to its grand patrons, Senator Akpabio and Governor Eno, for providing the platform to mobilise support, strengthen the movement nationwide.

The group announced plans to conclude its chapter inaugurations with a final event scheduled to hold on Tuesday in Nsit Ubium Local Government Area, which it described as a symbolic homecoming for Governor Umo Eno.

Reaffirming its core message, the initiative stressed that continuity with the APC remains essential for sustaining progress and unity in Akwa Ibom State.

The statement concluded with a message of optimism and solidarity, emphasizing collective commitment to the political future of the state and the nation.
