Troops of Operation ENDURING PEACE, in collaboration with local vigilante groups, have neutralized several terrorists, recovered arms and logistics supplies during coordinated clearance operations in Plateau State.

The operation, conducted under the ongoing offensive codenamed Operation WUTAN DAJI, targeted criminal elements operating around Daba and Seri villages in Wase and Kanam Local Government Areas.

According to a statement by the Media Information Officer of the Joint Task Force, Captain Chinonso Polycarp Oteh, troops on April 9, 2026, established blocking positions between Dutsen Zaki and the Odare Forest, a known transit corridor for armed groups.

At about 8:30 a.m., a large group of terrorists moving on motorcycles was sighted along the route. Troops engaged them with coordinated firepower, overwhelming the group and neutralizing 10 of the assailants, while others fled into nearby forests.

In a related development, troops responded swiftly to a reported attack on commuters along the Razat–Kafi Abu axis. Upon contact, the attackers retreated into surrounding hinterlands, prompting an immediate pursuit by security forces.

Subsequently, troops carried out cordon-and-search operations across Suma Suga and Takwok villages, including adjoining mountainous areas, to flush out the fleeing suspects.

The operations led to the recovery of weapons and other items abandoned by the terrorists, including three AK-47 rifles, three magazines, eight rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, two motorcycles, and five 25-litre jerrycans of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) believed to be for logistics support.

Security forces also recovered a National Identity Card and a photograph linked to the suspects, which are expected to aid ongoing investigations.

The military described the operation as a major step toward degrading the operational capacity of armed groups in the region. Troops remain on high alert and are continuing efforts to track down fleeing suspects and their collaborators.
