Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has attributed the sustained success of the Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG) Limited to the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) business model adopted by the Federal Government and multinational oil companies at the inception of the organisation.

Governor Fubara made the remark while receiving the newly appointed Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of NLNG, Mr. Adeleye Falade, who paid him a courtesy visit at the Government House in Port Harcourt.

The governor noted that despite the challenges of the global energy market and the difficult business environment, NLNG has continued to record steady progress in nearly three decades of operations.

He explained that the Federal Government’s decision to allow multinational oil companies with the requisite technical expertise to manage the organization, while government maintains a supervisory role, has largely contributed to its enduring success.

Governor Fubara reaffirmed the commitment of his administration to continue supporting NLNG, stressing that the company’s achievements also reflect positively on Rivers State and the Federal Government.

“The success of NLNG is also the success of the Rivers State Government and the Federal Government of Nigeria. As a government, we will continue to contribute our own quota to ensure the company thrives,” he said.

Earlier in his remarks, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of NLNG, Mr. Adeleye Falade, expressed appreciation to the governor for granting the audience and appealed for sustained support from the Rivers State Government.

Falade, who led other senior officials of the company on the visit, said NLNG remains committed to working closely with its host communities to strengthen their capacity to identify, prioritize and implement sustainable development initiatives that create lasting value.
