Troops of Operation ENDURING PEACE, under the special mandate of Operation WUTAN DAJI, have recorded major successes in ongoing clearance operations across Plateau State, neutralising suspected terrorists, arresting a kidnapping suspect, and dismantling criminal hideouts.
The operations, carried out on April 4, 2026, in collaboration with local vigilantes, targeted insurgent hideouts in Babangida, Adua, and Bokayi villages within the Dutsen Zaki forest in Wase Local Government Area.
During the operation, troops engaged armed suspects in a firefight along the Babangida–Adua road, resulting in the neutralisation of two individuals, while others fled with injuries. A subsequent search led to the recovery of a locally fabricated firearm, 105 rounds of 7.62mm PKT ammunition, 30 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, and a cutlass.
In a related operation in Namu District of Qua’an Pan Local Government Area, troops acting on intelligence intercepted four suspected terrorists in possession of 100 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition. Efforts to dismantle their hideout triggered an exchange of fire, during which three of the suspects were killed.

Meanwhile, troops in Shendam Local Government Area, working with local residents, apprehended a suspected kidnapper in Gidan Mangoro village. The suspect is believed to be linked to a recent abduction incident in the area and is currently in custody for further investigation.
The military said the operations demonstrate its continued resolve, alongside local partners, to restore peace and security across Plateau State.

Residents have been urged to remain vigilant and support security agencies with timely information as operations continue.
