The President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, has called on Nigerians to uphold peace, tolerance, mutual respect across religious and ethnic divides as Christians celebrate Easter this year.

In a nationwide message, Akpabio encouraged citizens to reflect on the values of love, unity, and peaceful coexistence embodied in the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Extending warm Easter greetings to Christians in Nigeria and across the globe, he emphasized the importance of harmony in fostering national development.

Akpabio urged all Nigerians to work collectively towards building a nation where every citizen can live in peace, prosperity, and mutual understanding.

While acknowledging the country’s ongoing security challenges, he expressed confidence that these issues could be addressed through collaboration, understanding, and prayers; noting the “relentless efforts” of President Bola Tinubu and the Armed Forces to tackle insecurity across the country.

The Senate President also used the medium to offer condolences to families affected by terrorist and bandit attacks, particularly in Jos, following recent killings.

He prayed for God’s mercy on the victims and comfort for the bereaved families, calling on Nigerians to remain resilient in the face of such tragedies.
