The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has handed over ₦3.94 billion recovered from fraudulent transactions to the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL).

The funds were formally presented on Thursday at the EFCC headquarters in Abuja by the Secretary to the Commission, Mohammed Hammajoda, on behalf of the agency’s Executive Chairman, Ola Olukoyede.

Speaking during the brief ceremony, Hammajoda said the recovery was made possible through diligent investigations and professional efforts by EFCC operatives, adding that the commission remained committed to tackling economic and financial crimes.

He emphasised that the agency would continue to work in the interest of Nigerians despite the risks associated with anti-corruption operations.

Receiving the funds on behalf of the national oil company, Executive Vice President (Downstream), Mumuni Dagazau, expressed appreciation to the commission for its support.

He described the recovery as evidence of institutional collaboration aimed at strengthening transparency and accountability in the sector.

Dagazau noted that NNPCL had continued to pursue reforms to address longstanding challenges and pledged sustained cooperation with the EFCC to ensure the protection of public resources.
