Troops of the Joint Task Force (North East), Operation HADIN KAI, have successfully repelled attempted terrorist attacks on their positions at Azir Bridge in Sector 2 and Banki in Sector 1.

According to a press statement issued on March 13, 2026, by the Media Information Officer of the Joint Task Force, Lt. Col. Sani Uba, the insurgents launched coordinated assaults in the early hours of the day, advancing in large numbers in a bid to overrun the military locations.

However, vigilant troops reportedly mounted swift, decisive resistance, deploying well-coordinated spoiling attacks which disrupted the terrorists’ formations and forced them to retreat in disarray.

The military said the engagements were further strengthened by close air support from the Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI, which played a crucial role in neutralising the threat and securing the affected areas.

The statement added that the failed attacks contradict what it described as misleading reports and propaganda circulating on some online platforms, stressing that troops remain firmly in control of the locations and continue to dominate the operational environment.

Operation HADIN KAI reassured residents of the North-East of the military’s resolve to sustain offensive operations against terrorist elements, restore lasting peace, stability across the region.
