President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, have paid glowing tribute to the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, on the occasion of his 84th birthday.
In a statement issued on Sunday ahead of the cleric’s birthday on March 2, 2026, the President described Pastor Adeboye as “one of our nation’s greatest gifts” and a “spiritual fortress” who continues to intercede for Nigeria and its people.
President Tinubu commended the revered clergyman’s humility and depth of wisdom, noting that his contributions to national development extend far beyond the pulpit.
“His humility is genuine, and his wisdom runs deep beyond the ordinary. His contributions to our nation extend beyond the pulpit where he ministers to souls to philanthropy, healthcare, education, and economic empowerment,” the statement read.
The President and the First Lady joined Pastor Adeboye’s wife, Pastor Foluke Adeboye, members of the RCCG, and the broader Christian community in thanking God for what they described as an exceptional life of impact that transcends cultures and borders.
They also expressed appreciation for the cleric’s consistent prayers for the nation and his commitment to Nigeria’s progress.
“We thank the Lord’s servant for his unceasing prayers for our nation and commend his patriotic zeal, manifest determination, and commitment to Nigeria’s progress,” the President said.
Tinubu further acknowledged Pastor Adeboye’s leadership over the past five decades, stating that his teachings have continued to shape and transform lives across generations within and outside Nigeria.
“As Daddy G.O. celebrates this special day, we pray that God Almighty continues to bless him with good health and strength as he carries on his work in the Lord’s vineyard,” the statement added.
Pastor Adeboye, fondly known as “Daddy G.O.,” has led the RCCG since 1981, overseeing its expansion into one of the largest Pentecostal denominations in the world, with parishes in numerous countries.
